Grading and Exam Conduct Officer

We are looking for a diligent team member to undertake daily grading assignments and perform compliance checks on remote tests to ensure fairness and compliance with testing policies and procedures. This involves the evaluation of and assigning grades to test takers spoken and written performances on KTE assessments, with reference to detailed grading criteria (marking rubric), and reviewing exam sessions to detect misconduct and report relevant observations or incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grade speaking/writing assessments using KTE grading criteria, ensuring grading SLAs, including bespoke SLAs for special KTE projects, are met at all times

  • Generate clear and effective feedback to test takers

  • Support graders during shifts by answering questions, providing second reads, etc.

  • Assist with creating and maintaining grader training materials

  • Communicate effectively with grading team and wider KTS Team

  • Collaborate cross-functionally on grading processes and standards

  • Deputise for the Manager of Exam Conduct and Grading as necessary

 

What we are looking for

  • English proficiency at a minimum CEFR C2 level

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in the area of education, linguistics, educational measurement

  • Experience in English language assessment grading and evaluation

  • Experience teaching adult English language learners

  • Experience in academic integrity & misconduct investigations

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • An understanding of good academic practice

  • An organised and methodical approach to work

  • Strong time management skills with ability to deliver to deadlines

  • The ability to work effectively on an individual basis and as a member of a team

  • The flexibility to adapt in a dynamic working environment

  • Confidence with IT platforms and Microsoft applications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and strong report writing skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively across a range of teams
