Job Description
Position Summary
The Accommodation Manager manages the KI housing program within the school, including the availability of a quantity and variety of residential and host family options; managing occupancy rates to maximize profit for KI while providing sufficient inventory for our sales/ CS teams to sell; plays a key role in the efficient and effective resolution of student housing issues and overall student satisfaction. The Accommodation Coordinator and Accommodation Support Specialist are direct reports to the Accommodation Manger.
Key Job Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of the housing program for the school including budget
Meet occupancy and profit margin targets
Work daily with Accommodations Support Specialist to ensure timely and accurate DBC and dashboard data and reports
Establish daily office hours dedicated to face to face resolution of student issues and inquiries
Monitors weekly feedback from student departure surveys and implements action plans for improvement
Forecast seasonal housing needs and work with existing and new suppliers to ensure capacity demands are met
Act as point of contact for housing vendors; work together to solve student service issues and meet capacity demands
Work closely with Accommodations Coordinator to develop and execute effective plans for host family recruitment and retention; actively seek to improve and expand the current supply of host families and other housing options; ensure all compliance standards such as background checks and annual visits are met on a timely basis
Work closely with Accommodations Coordinator to communicate student feedback to families and vendors
Manage payment processing for housing
Synchronize communication among school staff, housing providers, students, agents, and sales advisors to ensure excellent service to students
Coordinate the arrival and departure of international students; help them understand rules and policies; and aid in their adjustment to life in their local community American life
Ensure appropriate turn-around time on all housing inquiries and student issues that may arise
Monitor competitor activities as they pertain to housing (facilities, pricing, service, etc)
Maintain accurate records
Work with housing teams across the global KI organization to share best practices
Serve as first line manager for weekend on call duties
Complete other job duties as assigned
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent*
2+ years in a business or operational setting
Ability to travel locally and work evenings and weekends, as needed
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience managing staff
Prior experience with international students
One or more foreign language ability
